2009 event winner Dallas Singer boosting high from another perfect Knights Wedge.

(Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Knights Beach, South Australia) – Arguably the most notorious stop on the Australasian Rebel Sport Pro Bodyboarding Tour, the Heatworks Pro Presented by HB is returning to the infamous Knights Wedge in Port Elliot, September 11th and 12th.

Stop four of the pro bodyboarding tour will see a field of sixty professional bodyboarders from across Australasia and South Africa travel to the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula.

The event is celebrating its fifth birthday and boasts a huge four star rating and a $5, 000 cash pool.

The Knights Beach wedge is one of the most iconic bodyboarding waves in the world.  Waves surge from deep water hitting a shallow rocky sand bar, the water then rebounds off an adjacent rock wall which forms a very heavy wedging wave, bodyboarders then throw their bodies on the line for the ultimate barrel.

The Heatworks Pro has always been a pivotal event on the Aussie Tour, with many winners of the event going on to become the Australasian Pro champion.

Surfing South Australia’s Events Manager Tim Doman is wrapped to be bringing the event back to South Australia for the fifth year in a row.

“The event has really become a staple part of the Aussie Tour and we love having all the interstate guys over to surf our wave, it really helps to inspire our up and coming riders” said Tim.

The event gives the perfect opportunity for South Australian aspiring bodyboarders to mix it with their favorite bodyboarding idols.

“Each year we have drawn some of the worlds best bodyboarders to the event including Dave Winchester, Mitch Rawlins and Jake Stone.

“I think the quality of the field is testament to the event but also the great wave that we have here in our backyard”,  said Tim.

With just a two day waiting period to run the event, surfers must compete in whatever the ocean dishes up, however for four years straight the event has been held in near perfect Knights conditions, so contest organisers are hoping for five times lucky.

The Zion team are touring around Europe in a awesome little eight seater wagon, chasing swells and parties. At this point, all they’ve had is parties and a couple of small sessions. But looking at the charts, it looks like they could be scoring big time somewhere West in the next week.

Hardy takes down The Shark Island challenge beating Ben Player(2nd ), Damian King (3rd) and Local kid Shaun Pyne (4th). With a bit of a slow start and having to extending the waiting period for another month, the east coast was finally graced with a perfect swell. The Island looked a little bit more like Indo than the classic death slabs we’re used to out there, but it seemed like an amazing comp. Highlight for me Benny P air forward over surge! yes.
