Q. First things first: Tell us about your back, how did it happen, how’s it feeling now and how long will it be before you can get back in the ocean?
A. well what happened was i was surfing the zone and it wasnt very good conditions, and i took off on a solid one and couldnt make it as the tide was super low. Then i threw me over on to my back straight onto the reef. I fractured 3 vertebrea but as the doc said it was the best way to break it as there was no danager to my spinal cord. after 6 weeks now ive come along away and are probably only a week off getting in the water. its been a pretty hard time and very slow feeling recovery but i’m itching to get back in the salt!
Q. Whilst you’ve been sitting back, chilling on Facebook, you snagged yourself a double Movement cover!! Congrates. Tell us about that session?? (try to go into detail a bit, off putting with the chopper, had you planned it with Rod, etc)
A thanks, yeah i had no i dear that there was going to be a chopper that day until the night before. me and Dallas Singer had decided to go down for this particular session and went to blackrock the arvo beforehand. that night we happened to bump into Pete Moore(editor of movement) and he told us that they had organised a chopper. that morning we rocked up super early and so did everyone else, it was far from a uncrowded session and once the choper was there the crowd got pretty fierce. the actual wave i got the covers on was an insider and from real deep as i was over sitting in the crowd sitting out the back.. and it as actually one of the last waves before they had to bail after 4 hours in the air! so stoked but!
Q. You got any trips to Europe on the cards?
A. yeah after this trip to europe for the events ive got a little trip planned with chad waldron and luke shadbolt but i can disclose to much here. lets just say i hope to see you all then! thanks
